Essentials

Before you register to join a Club activity, it is important that you first read and agree to the Code of Conduct and the Essential Information document for the type of activity.

All members are required to complete and carry an Emergency Medical Information slip during all Club activities.

All the Essential Information documents make reference to a First Aid Kit.  This is the suggested NRBC First Aid Kit List which includes the NRBC Survival Gear List.

In the event of any Grievance or Complaint, the Club Committee will follow the process in the Grievance, Complaint and Dispute Resolution Process document.

There is very good comprehensive information on the Victoria Bushwalking Bushwalking Manual page.

For walk leaders, the Walk Leader Guidelines and Checklist is a great checklist of what to do and what to take when planning a walk, prior to and during the walk, at the end of the walk

Although aimed at Leaders, the For Leaders page contains useful information for all members. The following items are included:

  • Start of each activity - what to do
  • End of each activity - what to do
  • Incident Management process
  • Report of the activity
  • Car-pooling to share transport costs
  • Child Safety Policy and Guidelines
  • Emergency Contact Procedure
  • Reccies
  • Insurance
  • Navigation

There are many resources on the internet related to bushwalking. The Links page contains a selection of links to bushwalking resources that our Club members have found to be helpful.
