WALK: Trip to Freiburg Germany FULLY BOOKED
Heike Kerber has kindly volunteered to organise a trip to Freiburg im Breisgau. Heike grew up in this
beautiful area of the Black Forest. A three-day welcome transport ticket (tram, train and bus) costs EURO 27 which includes a return trip to Schauinsland Bahn (the longest circulating cable car in Germany).
The proposed itinerary is:
Day 1 Sightseeing guided history tour, walk up the Munster (a cathedral with a dramatic 116m spire), visit the Augustiner museum (included on the transport ticket)
Day 2 Cable Car to Schauinsland (lots of walks, cafes and panoramic views)
Day 3 Walk to St. Ottilien - 12km lunching at this beautiful forest café next to a historical cathedral.
Freiburg is a vibrant university town most known as the capital of The Black Forest and located in one of the most scenic corners of Southern Germany, situated between the borders of
Switzerland and France. The area of Freiburg is also the birthplace of the authentic black forest cake.
Heike has recently visited Freiburg and picked out 3 hotels close to each other, which can offer twin-
share and double accommodation. A small group is preferable.
