WALK: Sydney Revisited 8-day/7-night Event Grade 3 FULLY BOOKED
In 2023, the NRBC conducted a walking trip largely focused on the Bondi to Manly (B2M) Track. This was completed except for the section from the Spit Bridge to Manly which was closed due to a fuel reduction burn that went wrong!
This year we will do that section of the B2M walk as well as other day walks around Sydney Harbour and the Pacific Ocean coastline.
Please click here for the link to the current itinerary draft.
There will be walking events each day except for a scheduled lay-day when you can do your own thing in Sydney, such as visiting the Museum or Art Gallery of NSW or an Opera House tour.
We may even schedule an optional theatre show one evening as we did in 2023.
Accommodation:
Members should stay in the YHA Sydney Harbour hotel (although some may prefer to stay with family and friends, but those doing so are expected to be at the hostel at the start of each day’s activities). The YHA offers modern en-suite rooms for couples or singles (single members could come together to book a 4-bed bunk room for themselves – sort this out yourselves in the chat group on Member Jungle if interested). The hostel is perfectly located in The Rocks area and offers good-value accommodation in Sydney. You can even choose rooms that have harbour and opera house views! Do not confuse YHA Sydney Harbour with other YHAs in Sydney.
Booking:
If you want to join this tour, you should book your room (online is easy) at the YHA Sydney Harbour as soon as possible. Choose the free cancellation option in case our plans change for some reason. You can cancel for free up to your day of arrival. If you are a YHA member, you will receive a 10% discount, so it is well worthwhile joining the YHA.
Travel:
Don’t book airfares until your place on the trip is confirmed.
Members must have an Opal Card for travelling on public transport, which we will use every day. Seniors should apply for a Seniors Opal Card which offers a maximum cost of $2.50/day. But you need to apply online for this well in advance.
Attendance:
This is an NRBC member-only event, and you are expected to participate in the walking program on offer. The standard of all walks is moderate, so nothing too challenging (expect around 12 km/day).
Limit: 14 members due to the logistics of this trip.
Members: please register for yourself only (i.e. DO NOT register for additional people). This is for insurance purposes.
Upon registration, it will be assumed you have read the Northern Rivers Bushwalkers Club BUSHWALKING ESSENTIAL INFORMATION DOCUMENT.
Bring your completed Medical Information slip in your backpack.
If any children are attending, click on this link to read Child Safety Policy and Guidelines.
